Robotics Engineering and Technology

The Cambridge Robotics Academy at Howard D. McMillan Middle School is a magnet program of the Miami-Dade County Public School System. This program is based on the academy model, utilizing the International Cambridge Curriculum with advanced academics in Science, Mathematics and English applied to Robotic Engineering concepts. This magnet academy has real world applications in medicine, aerospace and automotive industries, law enforcement, military services, and manufacturing.

Post-Program Opportunities

Upon completion of the Cambridge Lower Secondary Robotics Program, students may choose to continue their academic studies and career preparation at various high school magnet programs offered by Miami Dade County Public Schools. Students enrolling in the Cambridge Lower Secondary Robotics Program are being prepared to meet the high academic matriculation requirements for Ivy League and other prestigious universities such as Yale, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard, Cornell and Brown University.

  • All applicants will be screened for admission to the magnet program. Accepted students must demonstrate acceptable performance in order to remain in the magnet program.
  • Acceptable progress in all subject and conduct areas must be maintained.
  • Acceptable attendance is required for admission and must be maintained.
